🇭🇺 Hungarian Apple Cake (Almás Pite)

Hungarian Apple Cake, or Almás Pite, is a classic homemade dessert loved for its simple ingredients and comforting flavor. Unlike a tall American apple pie, traditional Hungarian almás pite is usually made with two tender layers of pastry surrounding a generous filling of grated apples, sugar, and cinnamon.

The pastry is buttery and delicate, while the apple filling becomes soft, fragrant, and lightly caramelized as it bakes. Finished with powdered sugar, this traditional Hungarian cake is perfect with coffee or tea.
