• 1 egg, for brushing
• Powdered sugar, for dusting

For the Custard

• 6 large egg yolks
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• ½ cup cornstarch
• 4 cups milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 tablespoon lemon zest
• Pinch of salt
• 1 cup heavy cream
