Hungarian Chimney Cake Recipe (Kürtőskalács)

Hungarian Chimney Cake, known as Kürtőskalács, is one of Hungary’s most recognizable traditional pastries. Golden, fragrant, and coated in caramelized sugar, this spiral-shaped treat has a crisp exterior and a soft, tender center.

Traditionally baked around a wooden or metal cylinder, Kürtőskalács gets its famous chimney-like shape from the way the dough is wrapped around the mold. As it bakes, the sugar coating melts and caramelizes, creating an irresistible golden crust.
