
There’s nothing more disappointing than spending time making a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup only to taste it and realize something just isn’t right. This creamy version looked rich and comforting, but the final result didn’t have the flavor expected.
The good news? The recipe itself was probably not a total failure. A few small changes can make a huge difference the next time.
Ingredients
- 1 rotisserie chicken, meat removed and shredded
- 96 oz chicken broth
- 3–4 carrots, sliced
- 2–3 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 small onion, diced, or 1–2 tsp onion powder
- 1 lb egg noodles
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
