
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Toss the sliced apples with cinnamon, sugar, and lemon juice. Set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Beat the butter and sugar until light and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Arrange half of the apple slices evenly over the batter.
- Spread the remaining batter over the apples, then arrange the remaining apples on top.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
- Warm the apricot jam slightly and brush it over the warm cake.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
