
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, egg yolk, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Wrap the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- For the filling, combine the ground walnuts, sugar, egg white, vanilla, lemon zest, and apricot jam until thick and well combined.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll the dough out thinly and cut into small triangles or wedges.
- Place a small amount of walnut filling along the wide end of each piece.
- Roll each piece from the wide end toward the tip and gently curve it into a crescent.
- Arrange the kifli on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges.
- While still warm, carefully roll the kifli in powdered sugar mixed with vanilla sugar.
- Allow them to cool completely and dust with additional powdered sugar before serving.
