Ingredients
- 1½ lb (700 g) fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into pieces
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or lard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sweet Hungarian paprika
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 5 cups (1.2 L) chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried dill, or 1 tablespoon fresh dill
- 1 bay leaf
For the Sour Cream Thickener
- ¾ cup (180 g) sour cream
- 1½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2–3 tablespoons hot soup broth
To Finish
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1–2 teaspoons vinegar or lemon juice, optional
