
My father slowly raised his eyes to him.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Leo slept peacefully against Arthur’s chest, completely unaware that the room had suddenly become a battlefield.
Luca stared at my father as if he had just walked into a nightmare.
“You’re Arthur Sterling,” he finally whispered.
Dad didn’t answer.
He simply looked down at his grandson and adjusted the tiny blanket around Leo’s shoulders.
Luca’s eyes moved from Dad to me.
“Jessi… what’s going on?”
I stood from the sofa.
“What you mean is, who is going on?”
His face tightened.
“Why didn’t you tell me your father was—”
“Worth billions?”
He swallowed.
I smiled without humor.
“You never asked.”
“That isn’t fair.”
“Fair?”
